Kinja'd!!!

The day we moved into the new house.

Honestly, I’m not really putting much effort into selling. If it goes? It goes. This is the first honest prospect I’ve had in my half assed attempt at selling so, there’s that..

I was a bit skeptical at first. 985 area code is about 13 hours away on a good day with the wind to your back. But, the guy started asking about specific items. Things only an ATCer would ask. Scammers don’t normally put that much effort into their BS. I was planning on riding it this weekend too so fresh pics it is!

I’m not going to get too amped but I can almost taste that 500cc big bore kit for my 350x. Tastes like Fun!

Does the model name 200X come from the fact that it’s 200 times more dangerous than a regular bike?

Oddly no. The regular 200 series (200S, 200M or 200ES “Big Red”) were hardtails.  Your only suspension on those was in the tires. Bad juju.

Nice! Nowadays people tend to just keep their cell numbers no matter where they move, so the “location” of an area code doesn’t mean much. My best friend’s 309 area code number, depending on when you called him, would find him in North Carolina, Texas, Alaska, and now North Carolina again.

So far the only action I’ve had on my Roadmaster is one scammer, and one dude who offered me an S-10. I was interested in the S-10 until he sent me pictures of the other side, which was smashed to shit.

Oddly, keeping my 563 number hurt me on a few/all Chicago area job prospects. It was almost always the first question. One I couldn’t lie about.

To go the other way.. Keeping the 563 area code helped getting the job I have. Now I get grilled on my 676 (Davenport) prefix. It never ends.

Hell, using a 502 area code in an 812 area hurt my sales. They aren’t even far from each other!

I think older generations haven’t yet gotten the memo that phone number locations are meaningless these days. My dad won’t even return phone calls for people who want to pay him lots of money to work on their houses, because they have out of state phone numbers. He thinks they’re salesman who are lieing to him to get him on the phone. No amount of reasoning will convince him otherwise.
